Candice Cowen
Candice Cowen is a dedicated public servant and community advocate committed to strengthening neighborhoods and expanding opportunities for Tampa families. A proud Tampa native, she is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Hillsborough Community College, where she earned her degree in Public Administration. She also attended Florida A&M University and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration at the University of South Florida.
Candice currently works in local government, supporting housing and community development initiatives throughout the Tampa Bay area. Since beginning her career in public service in 2021, she has played an important role in administering federal, state, and local programs that increase access to affordable housing, support economic mobility, and help build stronger communities.
A respected community leader, Candice serves as President of the City of Tampa Black History Committee, Inc. and President of the Terrace Park Neighborhood Association. Through her leadership and service, she has become a passionate advocate for civic engagement, neighborhood empowerment, and equitable access to resources and opportunities for underserved communities.
Deeply committed to service, Candice regularly volunteers with local organizations and works alongside community leaders to address issues impacting working families across Tampa. Her work is driven by a strong belief in uplifting marginalized voices, promoting economic development, and creating pathways for long-term community success.
As a devoted mother of four, Candice brings compassion, resilience, and real-life experience to her work and leadership. She remains committed to building meaningful relationships, inspiring civic participation, and creating positive change that leaves a lasting impact on the community she proudly calls home.
